More Than Enough

Based on 2 Kings 4:1–7

Have you ever felt like life backed you into a corner?Bills stacking up. Marriage unraveling. Health fading. You’re doing your best, but it doesn’t feel like enough.

In 2 Kings 4, a widow found herself in a desperate situation. Her husband, a faithful servant of God, had died. Creditors were coming to take her sons. All she had left was a small jar of oil. But that was enough.

She cried out to the prophet Elisha. He asked, “What do you have in your house?” Her answer: “Nothing… except a small jar of oil.” That was more than enough in the hands of God.

🔹 God Knows Your NeedYou may feel unknown or forgotten—but you are fully known and deeply loved by God. He knows where you are and what you’re going through.

🔹 Desperate, But Not DefeatedLike the widow, maybe you're:

  • In a financial bind

  • Facing broken relationships

  • Struggling with physical illness

Don’t lose hope. Desperation is often the starting place for a miracle.

🔹 Her Response

  1. She cried out to God in faith.

  2. She obeyed even when the instructions didn’t make sense.

  3. She shut the door—blocking out fear, doubt, and distractions.

🔹 Empty Vessels. Overflowing Oil.The oil didn’t run out until the jars did. God used what she had—just a little—and multiplied it. Not only was the debt paid, but there was enough left for her family to live on.

God still does that.He meets needs. He multiplies faith. He fills empty places. He doesn’t just give enough—He gives more than enough.
